As the Headmaster of Sloan School, allow me to welcome you to our website. Sloan School, which opened in 1968 is recognized by the National Private Schools Accrediation Alliance and draws students from the entire Columbia, SC area high school district. We are a school with an exciting and energetic learning environment for both students and staff. We currently serve students in grades seven through twelve.
 
All Sloan School students are required to participate in a comprehensive curriculum in the core subjects and must enroll and take the exam in a minimum of five Advanced Placement courses to graduate. Additionally, students are required to select one of two pathways in tenth grade, which they follow through twelfth grade.

In order to provide a caring and supportive learning environment along with academic rigor, our students are assigned to one teacher who meets with them in a “closed classroom concept” throughout their six developmental years at Sloan School.
 
Our school remains committed in all that we do to uphold the high standards that earned Sloan School the recognition as one of the top private high schools in the state.
